About Dee Carri
Dee Carri, Founder and Director of Torque Management, is a technology sector veteran with over 20 years experience in Vendor, User and Consulting organisations and a Subject Matter Expert in IT Compliance for regulated sectors.
During her career Dee has held a number of senior management positions: Gartner UK as Consulting Director, PA Consulting Group in Ireland as
e-business development Director, Élan Corporation plc as Vice President Information Technology with global responsibility for IT strategy, standards
and policy and Member of the Board of Management of Elan Pharma Ltd.
Dee is a regular speaker at Technology and compliance events and has guest lectured on the UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School MBA programme and the UCG MBA programme. She has recently co-authored research ‘Worldwide Compliance issues in Life Sciences’ in conjunction with LifeSciences Insights, an IDC company and developed a Compliance Process Maturity Benchmarking tool for Life Science organisations.
Dee has a wide ranging interest in ICT and, as such, contributes to shaping public policy through her participation, in industry and government committees and advisory bodies such as:
- Member and participant of a joint Drug Information Association (DIA) and the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), to update FDA guidelines for: “Computerized Systems for Nonclinical Safety Assessment: Current Concepts and Quality Assurance” to be published in early 2008.
- Member of the Irish Information Society Commission where she is a past chair of the Legal Affairs Working Group and current chair of the Information Security and Privacy working group (www.isc.ie).
- Member of the European Convergent Communications Network (ECCN) maintaining a focus on European legislative and other initiatives in e-business and e-enablement.
- Past Chairman of the Irish Telecommunications Users Group at IBEC and member of the e-business strategy group (www.ibec.ie)
- European member of the Information Technology special interest group of the Drug Information Association.
Dee established Torque Management in April 2002 to pursue her passion and interest in quality and performance.
